Common ELF magnetic field frequencies are within the range of human hearing. This simple set up converts the AC magnetic signal directly into a dramatic corresponding sound signal. A 60 Hz powerline field sounds like a 60 Hz hum (a low note on piano keyboard). Harmonics can easily be heard, as well as clicks, static, and hash. LED displays are especially noisy. The strength of the field is proportional to loudness.
